The story behind this piece

Always Lead with Love is a two-piece set built in pink, silver, brushed texture, and matte gray. It started out as something completely different. The frame itself is what caught my eye first, and it did not even have the glass. But the real meaning showed up later, after a moment I am not proud of.

I got on to one of my kids too harshly. The kind of moment where you know you missed the mark, and you spend the next day or two spiraling in regret, replaying your tone and your timing, wishing you could pull the words back and do it over. What came out of that was an epiphany that felt simple but heavy. Always lead with love.

It is a reminder that leadership starts at home. It is not about being soft or letting things slide. It is about choosing the approach that builds people instead of breaking them down. It is a pause button for the moments when your first reaction wants to take over, because the first reaction is often the wrong one. Wait. Reset. Lead with love at every opportunity.

There is a little Ted Lasso in it, a nod to the kind of leadership that still holds standards but never forgets the person underneath the mistake. My wife has kept this piece in her office for years. It is one of her favorites. And for me, it is a constant reminder that the goal is not to win the moment. The goal is to protect the relationship and grow the person.
